About Start Cup Milano Lombardia

Start Cup Milano Lombardia is the business plan competition promoted by the system of Lombard universities and incubators with the coordination of Università degli Studi di Milano.

The distinctive feature of the competition is the selection of entrepreneurial projects aimed at the creation of innovative startups based on the specific competences of the organizing universities and incubators.

The winners of the competition will be awarded money prizes and services and will participate in the Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione, the national grand finals of local Start Cups.

News 2011

This year's edition will feature four different sectoral categories:
-    Life Sciences (Biotech, Medical Devices, Pharmaceutics)
-    Clean Technologies & Agro-food
-    ICT- Industrial Technology
-    Social Innovation

Moreover, on the occasion of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, the Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione is promoting the project "Alla ricerca dei nuovi 1000: gli innovatori che possono cambiare il Paese" (Looking for the new 1000: the innovators who can change the country) in collaboration with Working Capital. The national finals will take place on November 20th in Turin in the presence of the President of the Republic, with 4 prizes worth 100.000 euro and an investment opportunity up to 1.000.000 euro offered by Quantica SGR.

Participation is free, and so is training in case of selection!

How to Participate

Call for Ideas - deadline: June 30th 2011
Participation in the Call for Ideas is mandatory to access the business plan competition and Working Capital - Premio Nazionale dell'Innovazione.

The competition is open to innovative entrepreneurial ideas: all ideas submitted by May 27th will be selected for training and tutoring.

Business Plan Competition - deadline: September 7th 2011
In order to participate in the business plan competition it is necessary to submit a business plan for the development of innovative products and services with commercial potential in the afore mentioned sectoral categories.

All those who have submitted an entrepreneurial idea within the terms foreseen by the Call for Ideas shall submit the candidature within the Rules of the competition, which shall be complete in all its parts.

The Prize Award Cerimony and Working Capital - Premio Nazionale per l'Innovazione

The eight winners of Start Cup Milano Lombardia (two for each category) will be announced during the prize giving ceremony on September 28th in Milan and six of them will automatically participate in Working Capital - Premio Nazionale dell'Innovazione. The national finals will take place on November 18th in Turin.
